Who is responsible for your data

Red Alder Property Ltd, the company behind PimaScroll, is the data controller for the information you give on this website and in the PimaScroll app.

What we collect on this page

Your name and M-Pesa phone number, and your M-Pesa payment confirmation. We never see your M-Pesa PIN.

Visits to this website

We count visits to improve this page: Which page you opened, the link or ad that brought you here (for example a "utm" tag or a friend's share code), your country and city (from your internet connection), and whether you use a phone or computer. We set small cookies: pv, a random visitor number kept for one year, pab, which remembers which version of the page headline you saw, and pick, which remembers if you chose the Kenya or US page with the link at the bottom of the page. This information stays in our own database on Cloudflare. We don't use advertising trackers and we don't sell it.

Why

To confirm your founding spot, send you your download link and updates by SMS, and send refunds.

Who we share it with

Safaricom M-Pesa, to process your payment, and our SMS provider, to send you messages.

Advertising with Meta (Facebook and Instagram)

This website uses the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API so we can see which of our Facebook and Instagram ads bring people to PimaScroll, and show our ads to people more likely to find them useful. When you visit, sign up or pay, Meta receives that event, the page address, your browser details and IP address, and Meta's own cookies. For sign-ups and payments we also send your phone number in a scrambled (hashed) form that cannot be read back, plus the amount paid. We never send your name, your M-Pesa PIN or anything about how you use your phone. Meta uses this under its own privacy policy. You can limit ads based on this in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings, or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser.

The PimaScroll app

Your account. Your name, and however you choose to sign in: Your phone number, your email address, Sign in with Apple or Google. From Apple and Google we only receive an account number and, if you allow it, your email address. If you add a profile photo, we store it so your partners can recognise you.

Screen Time. PimaScroll uses Apple's Screen Time to lock the apps you pick when your time is up. Apple keeps the details private: The app never sees which apps or websites you use, or what you do in them. The only Screen Time information your phone sends us is a daily total of minutes on the apps you chose to limit, and whether you reached your limit, so we can show you your own week. We never share this with your partners, advertisers or anyone else.

Your pact and tokens. Your limits, sleep and locked times, the tokens you earn and spend, emergency pass requests (with the reason you type), and messages you send us through Help.

Accountability partners. The name and phone number or email address of each partner you add. We use them only to send that partner the messages you agreed to: When you use extra time, buy tokens, ask for an emergency pass, turn PimaScroll off or finish a clean week. Partners never see how many minutes you spend on your phone.

How you use PimaScroll. To improve the app, it records which PimaScroll features you use, like opening the Wallet, adding a partner or finishing a setup step, and when. It's kept on our own servers and isn't shared with anyone. It never includes which apps you lock or use, or anything you type. Setup steps you reach before signing in are linked only to a random number made by the app on your phone. We delete these records after about 13 months.

Purchases. Plans and token packs are bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and never shares your card details with us; we receive a record of what you bought, when, the price and your country's store.

Who helps us. Cloudflare (hosting and our database), Apple and Google (sign-in and App Store payments), SDP Email (sign-in codes and partner emails) and our SMS provider (sign-in codes and partner SMS). The app has no advertising, no advertising trackers, and sends nothing to Meta.

Deleting your account. In the app, go to Account › Delete my account. Your account, pact, history, tokens, partners, photo and the record of which features you used are deleted straight away. We keep payment records (what was bought, when and for how much), as accounting law requires.
